Why This Is the Upgrade That Actually Matters
Of all the electrical work a home can have done, a switchboard upgrade is the one with the clearest safety case. A safety switch (RCD) is what actually prevents electrocution — it cuts power in a fraction of a second if current starts leaking somewhere it shouldn't, whether that's a faulty appliance or someone contacting a live wire. Ceramic fuses don't do this. If your board still has them, that's the gap.
What's Involved
Most upgrades replace the old fuse board with a modern one fitted with circuit breakers and safety switches, sized for what the property actually needs — including headroom for higher-load additions like air conditioning or an EV charger, if that's on the horizon. Power is off to the property for part of the job, which we'll tell you upfront when quoting.
